To mark our 20th anniversary milestone, we’ve tapped into the minds of our Business Analysts, unveiling an array of fun facts about the QSS packages they deliver!

1. QSS1 – Biographical Management

Did you know that you can track information on an individual AND the household they belong to? If you’re storing information about 1 person, add it to their Contact record in Salesforce. You can track their employment, emails, phone numbers and addresses for that individual. Any shared information with other individuals in their household can be collected in their Salesforce Account record; Household address, seasonal address, phone numbers, greetings and communication codes… it can all be tracked in an account. And what’s more, you can run National Change of Address (NCOA) on your accounts right in Saslesforce.

2. QSS2 – Gift Processing

Batch Templates and Batch Defaults allow you to greater streamline your data entry and drastically reduce data entry errors.

3. QSS3 – Corporation and Foundation Fundraising and Grant Payments

Your grant process is completely customizable – from research, to LOI, to submitted proposals, and outcomes. Deliverable and activity tracking is also included.

4. QSS4 – Annual Giving and Appeals

Did you know that we have built automations to make reporting on your Annual Giving Metrics so much simpler? We’ve done the work for you in a few fields to calculate Donor Behavior, Donor Activity, and Donor Status. Gone are the days of trying to get the calculations correct and consistent in your reports.

5. QSS5 – Major Gifts, Contact Reports, and Portfolios

No need to code prospects with stages! With Account Teams (prospect pool assignments) and Opportunity Teams (pipeline assignments), your pool and pipeline are independent and more representative of the collaborative nature of fundraising. Your MGOs can add contact reports directly from their Outlook or Gmail accounts, or even dictate them to their phones with the Salesforce mobile app!

Did you know that you can create and automate different giving levels in Salesforce based on your constituents’ commitment or engagement? Levels can correspond to gift clubs, so that as soon as someone hits a giving threshold, they’re added to a gift club and welcome emails can go out automatically. Less time spent manually managing gift clubs means more time for thoughtful stewardship!

Custom fields allow information from planned gift calculators such as PG Calc and Crescendo to be entered or imported directly into your database so that all your information can be in one place.

This package relies on the Program Management Module from Salesforce, which can be used to track anything from litter clean up projects, to professional and continuing education, to lecture and class offerings. Its incredibly flexible.

Salesforce Communities is a really powerful tool that allows you to give your partners, donors, alums, or any other external entity access to your CRM data in a secure and direct way. We use this for Alumni Directories, Board Portals, and more!

20. QSS27 – Scholarship Management Portal

Our Scholarship Management package doesn’t just let you track applications for funding and money that you’ve awarded. You can also connect those back to your General Accounting Units as disbursements, so that you can track the full cycle of funding–from a donation that establishes a fund all the way through to a scholarship recipient receiving financial assistance–making reporting to your donors on the impact of their gifts accurate and easy!

Patrick joined the Sleek team in 2021, having worked in Advancement for over 12 years as a prospect researcher eventually becoming director. He’s an expert when it comes to prospect management and using prospect data to optimize fundraising efforts. He is a Certified Salesforce Administrator, and focuses on major giving, corporation and foundation giving, donor relations, and of course, prospect research and management.

Amanda Viehman is the vice president of operations for Sleek Consulting, where she oversees the delivery of QSS implementations including scheduling client sessions, managing configuration requests, and facilitating client questions and needs in the data conversion. Prior to joining Sleek Consulting, Amanda spent over 10 years in nonprofit fundraising, most recently as the Director of Research and Relationship Management at Rollins College. She is a certified Project Management Professional and Agile practitioner.
